Dutch Dog Design Wins Silver In The Prestigious International Design Awards Category Of Outdoors Equipment And Accessories For The Britch Bicycle Load System.
Seattle, WA – Dutch Dog Design started in 2003 with the purpose to design and launch the first dog bicycle trailer. It became an instant hit and led to the birth of the ‘DoggyRide’ brand, which has grown over the years to a household name and is nowadays sold in 19 countries. In 2004, it introduced the first dog stroller for larger dogs and it kept leading the market with innovations in the dog bike trailer and stroller category. In 2018 it expanded from experiencing the outdoors with just pets to loading anything on your bicycle.
Dutch Dog Company introduced the ‘Britch’ which is a unique bicycle cargo rack that clamps onto the seat tube and in front to the down tube and distributes the weight of load from front or rear to the center of the bicycle, just like when anyone steps onto a bicycle. The front load works independently from the handlebar allowing heavier cargo loads or pets, and the rear also works as a trailer hitch. This makes bicycle trailers track from the center instead of pulling on one side of the hub and avoid potential damage to the hub or an electric drive systems.
Dutch Dog Design has already started offering applications for the Britch for pets using their award winning DoggyRide Cocoon pet bicycle basket (Pet Product News Editor Choice Award 2013) now as a platform based basket in three different sizes allowing pets up to 24 lbs being carried on the front. In fact the basket not moving with the handlebar makes it the only suitable pet bicycle basket that won’t give your pet nausea while riding.
Dutch Dog Design is also working with bicycle meal delivery service companies to offer an universal bicycle rack for their couriers that use their own bicycles for meal delivery without having them to carry the meals in big boxes on their back. It plans also to work with the mail and small parcel delivery companies in the near future as more applications become available.
