China’s First Haute Couture Designer Opens Exhibit in Los Angeles
World-renown fashion designer Guo Pei celebrated the launch of her new “Guo Pei: Couture Beyond” exhibit with a lavish party held on March 9th, 2019 at the Winn Slavin Fine Art Gallery of Beverly Hills, and hosted by renown painter Sir Daniel K. Winn. The event was attended by more than 200 American and Chinese celebrities, fashion icons, designers and philanthropists, including MDSUN cosmetics founder Zehra Sun.
At the event, the paintings from Sir Daniel K. Winn’s “Existential Surrealism” collection served as a backdrop to some of Guo Pei’s most famous creations. Winn noted that it felt like a dream working on Guo Pei to create paintings based on her designs.
The event was sponsored by renown cosmetics brand MDSUN, and organized by internationally known entrepreneur and philanthropist Zehra Sun.
According to Anne Shih, Chairwoman of the Board of Governors of the Bowers Museum, March 9th, 2019, marks the official opening of “Guo Pei: Couture Beyond” at at the Bowers Museum. The exhibition will feature more than 40 of her most breathtaking pieces, and highlight the artist’s impact on the world of fashion. The exhibition showcases the iconic work of world renowned couturière designer Guo Pei, whose iconic fashion designs have dressed celebrities and royalty, and even graced the cover of Vogue’s Met Gala edition.
The “Guo Pei: Couture Beyond” exhibit will run from March 9-July 14, 2019 at the Bowers Museum, located at 2002 North Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706.
