Community Health 1st ER Now Providing Effective, Efficient Emergency Care for Deer Park, La Porte & Pasadena Residents

Deer Park, TX – A new free-standing emergency services facility that recently opened its doors in Deer Park is already making a difference to the lives of local residents when it comes to emergency medical care. Community Health 1st ER, which opened in December, 2018, is well on its way to achieving its goal of becoming the area’s premier patient-focused emergency room.

Located at 1101 East Boulevard, Community Health 1st ER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The facility employs six highly experienced physicians along with professionally trained ER nurses and technicians. With state-of-the-art equipment to perform CT scans, X-rays and MRIs, Community Health 1st also boasts an in-house lab and a pharmacy.

“We can treat everything from minor injuries to stabilizing patients in trauma cases,” says co-founder Randy Haddox. “We also provide migraine care. Whatever the problem, we can help, and we have no wait times, so you will be looked after as soon as you come in.”

And according to founder and CEO Jay Mackey, Community Health 1st operates solely in the best interest of its patients, and that includes its patients’ financial well-being.

“As a private facility, we’re focused on your wellness, not on your insurance. So your ability to pay has no effect on what type of treatment you will receive from us. We just give you the best care and treatment possible, regardless of your financial circumstances. We’ll work with you to figure out the best payment solution.”

Mackey notes that although Community Health 1st does not accept Medicare, Medicaid or Tricare, anyone in a medical emergency situation seeking medical treatment can have comfort knowing that their insurance provider by law has to reimburse at the insured’s in-network benefit level, according to the prudent lay-person standard.

“Unlike traditional emergency rooms, our freestanding facility isn’t connected to a hospital – this prohibits us from accepting federally funded programs, like Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare and CHIPS. Because freestanding emergency facilities are a new and rapidly growing industry, legislation hasn’t been enacted yet that allows our facilities to accept the same payment plans as traditional emergency rooms. Although our center has to comply with this limitation, our team of administrative and billing staff will work diligently to ensure your satisfaction.”

In keeping with its name, the facility wants to become an integral part of the community. With this in mind, it recently became the title sponsor of the Deer Park Rotary Club’s annual Texas Independence Bicycle Tour and also the title sponsor of Deer Park ISD student athletics.

“We’re here to make a difference,” says Haddox. “We’re here to provide emergency health care, but we also aim to become a valued member of this great community.”
