Martial arts practice is a great way for one to mold their character. Using this martial arts theme, The Shoujiki Method is not only fun, but it will also help people communicate and mold character as well. Everything you need is in one book, just add your dice and a timer. The book is complete with all the questions and rules. Players just use a timer and regular dice. Playing cards, polygon belt color dice, and a sand timer will be available soon as well.

Shoujiki is a Japanese word used to refer to people of integrity or honesty. The Shoujiki method and the game of Shoujiki has the same theme as Japanese Dojo or martial arts and is meant to enhance cohesiveness while still maintaining the fun aspect of a game.

The author of the Shoujiki Method crafted this game from experience with martial arts and the need to promote conversational self-defense coupled with fairness, assertion, and integrity. The idea for this game was inspired by an experience where a young boy was seen overpowering and intimidating a weaker child.

In this game, players start from white belt and graduate all the way to black belt. A sensei is chosen to help the players and award them as they progress from one level to the next. This game also incorporates Chibi animals who are friendly and represent the light-hearted nature of the game. Unlike those in the lower ranks, the players with higher belts are not driven by the desire to win. They are mostly focused on helping the players below them to catch up and protecting them from getting lost in heated arguments.

It is safe to say that this game is more of an intellectual game than a physical one and promotes self-defense without the use of violence. Most importantly, this game helps players to listen to each other’s opinion without judgment and outrage no matter how different their opinions are. With incidences of pushy and polarizing opinions on social media becoming rampant, it is refreshing to see a game that promotes mental agility, strength, and cohesiveness. The Shoujiki Method allows for one to exercise self-defense while at the same time allowing for differences in opinion.
