Preterm birth which is popularly known as premature birth is the birth of a baby at fewer than 37 weeks gestational age. These premature births come with complications that can cause problems for babies all through their lives. Premature birth can lead to long-term intellectual and developmental disabilities for babies
A research carried out by the World Health Organization revealed that about 15 million babies are born too early every year. This means that 1 in 10 babies and approximately 1 million children die every year due to preterm birth complications. Even if the new born babies survive many faces a lifetime of disability.
With the collaboration of NeoDocto foundation and with the help of their resources pregnant women would be taught to manage their weight healthily for the sake of their babies, and the importance of being physically active will be stressed to them. This will help in reducing the risk of pre-eclampsia which can result in preterm birth. Women will be also given access to the NeoDocto health articles.
