Magga Sigga Asks Readers to Never Give Up in her first book ‘Beyond Success’
She begins with how her primary school teacher believed in her in spite of her dyslexia. She had quit school to work so she returned at age 23 because her principal personally encouraged her to persist. She eventually succeeded out of sheer determination. Some call it grit.
Just to overcome her fears, she relays her frightening experience of trekking up a mountain. Even the travails she endured through the delivery of her youngest child and her daughter, she expresses how courage makes the defining difference.
Magga’s role models include her grandmother, who taught her to never give up, and her mother, who taught her to see all the beauty that Nature has to offer – in spite of the fact that life was not too kind with her. She also acknowledges her elder sister whose support and love kept her going during life’s difficult challenges. She remarks that these women helped her become who she is today.
Success, to Magga, is about “getting up, getting dressed and going out anyway”. The success a person enjoys is directly proportional to their courage – motivated by their dreams. As an example, and in spite of not being very comfortable with English, she chose to write her first book in a language she’s not expressly familiar with.
She challenges her readers to never lose hope or fail to build themselves up. Magga’s life expresses her belief in the power of self-motivation. Because of motivational podcasts, she learned to never give up in life – and a few things about stubbornness that some call grit. Life’s difficulties are opportunities to embrace, and even learn to love, because the strength earned from fixing ourselves means refusing to break mentally.
The words that guide her most include a quote from Plato, “We are twice armed if we fight with faith”. And with regards to leadership, she’s inspired by Finn Örjan Saele, a Norwegian businessman known for his success in network marketing: “Believe that you are a superstar and you will become one.”
