Morris, King & Hodge Announces Winners of 5th Annual Driver Safety Scholarship Contest
Three North Alabama high school seniors receive a total of $4,200 in scholarships for essays spotlighting serious problem of texting and driving.

Huntsville, Alabama – The law firm of Morris, King & Hodge P.C. is pleased to announce the three 2019 Driver Safety scholarship winners.

Every year, Morris, King & Hodge, P.C. sponsors a Driver Safety Scholarship program to increase awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. The law firm awards three scholarships to seniors graduating from high schools in Alabama who plan to attend college. To apply, students must submit essays that discuss distracted driving and offer practical information to address this growing issue. This year, with over 50 applicants, Morris, King & Hodge, P.C. selected three winning essays for the Driver Safety Scholarships.

The three scholarship winners are:

First Place — Emily Mann, a senior at Huntsville High School in Huntsville, AL. Emily plans to attend the University of North Alabama in the fall and pursue a degree in Business & Human Resources.

Second Place — Emily Lovejoy, a senior at Florence High School in Florence, AL. Emily plans to study Social Work at the University of North Alabama and was ranked in the Top 10 on the State of Alabama National French Exam in 2017.

Third Place — Sarah Black, a senior at Hazel Green High School in Hazel Green, AL. Sarah plans to attend Calhoun Community College in the fall before transferring to Athens State University. Her goal is to become an early childhood/elementary school teacher.
