myHIRSUTISM Releases Results of 2019 Study “Living with Hirsutism”
Women shared insight into Hirsutism symptoms, PCOS, and more

JUNE 4, 2019 – The team at myHIRSUTISM has announced the findings of a new study that took place in January and February of 2019. As part of this study, 269 women were asked how hirsutism has affected them and how they handle symptoms on a daily basis.

Of the women surveyed, 83% also reported having PCOS. Nearly all the women surveyed reported excessive body hair, and many also reported struggling with hair loss, weight gain, or acne. When asked about supplements, respondents reported most commonly using spearmint or progesterone.

96% of women surveyed reported that they remove hair on a regular basis, most commonly by plucking or shaving. More than 75% of them also remove hair from their chest, nipples, stomachs, legs, and thighs, and 90% reported ingrown hairs as a problem. More than half of the women reported acne.

97% of women reported that their symptoms are bothersome, and 80% say that aspects of their lives, including intimacy, anxiety, and depression, are majorly impacted.

The community at myHIRSUTISM is designed to uplift, inspire, and educate women with hirsutism. More information can be found at https://myhirsutism.com/hirsutism-study/.
