COME, SAID THE NIGHT // DARKCOAST
“COME, SAID THE NIGHT is something new for the horror/thriller world with twists” – Hidden Remote.

Los Angeles, CA – June 4, 2019 – She’s about to remind Dances With Films just how terrifying it was to grow up.

Writer-Director Andres Rovira’s (No Stranger Pilgrims, The Projectionist) debut feature, COME, SAID THE NIGHT (The Otherness), will receive its Southern California premiere as a Narrative Features official selection in Dances With Films (DWF), screening at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatres + IMAX on Sunday, June 16th at 7:15 PM, learned Daily Dead exclusively.

Produced by Colby Reed Miller and James Edmund Datri from Miller/Datri Pictures, COME, SAID THE NIGHT, is faith-based folk title that uses Greek mythology as the film’s religious backdrop, creating a terrifying blur between the real and the imaginary. Billed as a coming-of-age horror story with a young female lead grappling with sexuality and repression, accompanied by a terrifying monster that will end her childhood forever.

Summary:

Thirteen-year-old Sprout Grady (Nicole Moorea Sherman), in the midst of coming-of-age, and on vacation with her family to their secluded retreat in the forest on the anniversary of her sister’s death, grows convinced that a monster is haunting the nearby woods. Embarking on a mission to vanquish it, she uncovers horrifying secrets that rock the core of everything she thought she knew [from DANCES WITH FILMS].

Led with an outstanding performance from the up-and-coming star, Nicole Moorea Sherman (The Bacchae, Little People series), COME, SAID THE NIGHT is a slow burn psychologically thriller that combines elements of a coming-of-age horror. Sherman’s character showcases the harrowing challenges of being a kid – the fear, the anxiety and the discovery of sexuality – reminding us just how terrifying it was to grow up.

In a recent interview with Cinapse, Sherman stated, “It also helped that I was 13, just like Sprout, at the time of filming. I could really relate to a lot of what she was experiencing concerning coming of age, so I think that played a huge part in making Sprout feel like a real person. I love that Andy Rovira, our director, had the courage to use someone my age rather than having someone older play younger. It just feels so authentic.”

COME, SAID THE NIGHT will have its Southern California premiere at DWF on Sunday, June 16th at TCL Chinese Theatres + IMAX (6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028) at 7:15 PM. Alongside Nicole Moorea Sherman, COME, SAID THE NIGHT features stellar performances from 21st century ‘Scream Queens’, Danielle Harris (Halloween series, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead), award-winning Lew Temple (The Walking Dead, The Devil’s Rejects, The Endless), Tate Birchmore (Peppermint), Daniela Leon (Atypical) and Max Page (Prime Suspect, The Young and the Restless).
