Gifted artist currently serving time at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex chronicles the intricacies of incarceration in his new book
Talented author, youth empowerment advocate, and artist, Sean J. Marshall, launches his new book titled “Discarded Lives – A Prisoner’s Memoir,” where he talked about US penal system and what it means to be behind bars

The criminal system of the United States of America has remained a subject of controversy for years due to the different sides of the coin every institution looks at it from. Sean J. Marshall, an author and passionate advocate for outreach programs targeted at at-risk youth is offering a detailed report on what it means to be incarcerated and the different methods employed by the penal system in his new book.

Incarceration is one of the major forms of punishment and rehabilitation for the commission of a felony and other offenses in the United States. Therefore, it is not surprising that the country has the largest prison population in the world, and the highest per-capita incarceration rate. The statistics are even more disturbing, considering that the United States incarcerates more of its youth than any other country in the world. These, among other things, have made the US penal system a continuous subject of controversy. Sean J. Marshall is, however, looking to shed more light on the system with his new project.

Titled “Discarded Lives – A Prisoner’s Memoir,” the book is a first-hand experience of the author, who is currently behind bars at one of the most notorious facilities in the US, the Buena Vista Correctional Complex. The book was inspired by Sean’s years of experience, leading to a deep desire to shed more light on the system with the aim of helping millions of people across the globe have a better understanding of being behind bars.

Published by Hancock Press, the book offers a captivating, riveting, and prolific account of prison life in each page.

“Discarded Lives – A Prisoner’s Memoir” is currently available on several digital platforms such as Amazon.
