Planning a Vacation: WalkThisTown.com Survey Reveals Travelers Want Less Ads and More Updated Information

WalkThisTown.com is an expanding online subscription resource guide for tourists who love to travel to the best towns throughout North America and beyond.

Baltimore, Maryland An independent marketing firm, eBranding Group, conducted a survey of business and tourist members of WalkThisTown.com and found businesses felt the modest cost for a listing, coupled with access to tourists interested in visiting unique towns was a winning combination and offered the businesses extreme value for their targeted annual marketing budgets.

There are great travel resources for each town represented, including maps, parking information, Google street view maps, video tours of the towns, links to local events, and area restaurants and attractions. You can tour the town from the comfort of your own home.  Members can favorite towns, businesses, and experiences to refer back to when it comes time to go on vacation or take a day trip.  Tourists can join free to get updates and learn about unique town experiences they may have otherwise missed without this valuable travel resource.

WalkThisTown.com started as a beta test in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, and has since taken off to include over 30 towns. The goal of WalkThisTown.com is to provide town visitors with up-to-date information on travel destinations and experiences. The co-founder of WalkThisTown.com, Ernie Rafailides, loves to travel to interesting new towns with his family. While traveling, he noticed it was hard to find reliable information from a website dedicated to travelers interested in small towns. “We want people to get out, walk, stay healthy, and explore all the unique aspects of what each town offers”, he stated.

Recently, WalkThisTown.com has expanded to include online T-shirts and town-related merchandise for travelers who may visit towns, but do not get a chance to buy town-related merchandise. Mr. Rafailides stated, “When we added Key West, we felt we needed to sell T-shirts and other Key West-related products. By offering the town merchandise, we are able to keep our annual advertising rates low for participating town businesses.” What sets WalkThisTown.com apart from other travel guides is you are not inundated with annoying ads popping up all over the place, but instead have a clean flowing user experience dedicated to providing the most up-to-date town travel destination information.
