Weiwuying makes Time Magazine’s 2019 list of the World’s Greatest Places

Kaohsiung’s soft power glitters again on the international stage! The latest issue of the renown American “Time Magazine” released the World’s Greatest Places 2019 list, including the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), which makes Weiwuying the first Taiwan attraction to be on the list and the pride of Taiwan.

Weiwuying is built aiming to be an art center for all people. It is speaking up for Taiwan with cultural soft power, and has also become a significant platform for linking Taiwan with international culture world. It has successfully attracted many foreign tourists and international performers to visit. In order to continue enriching cultural elements, Kaohsiung is going to have a unique Maritime Cultural & Popular Music Center ready in 2020. It is located at the intersection of the Love River and Kaohsiung Port with ushering urban style and future trends, and will turn Kaohsiung into an Asia-Pacific pop music creation and performance center as well as International oceanic culture exchange Platform.

Recently, Kaohsiung continued making efforts to invite internet celebrities to promote tourism. Among them, Korean model Junghwan & Dani also designated to visit the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. The center impressed them, and with full of expectation for the future Maritime Cultural & Popular Music Center, they said they would definitely visit Kaohsiung after its launch next year.

In addition, Thailand’s Kaykai Salaider filmed and tasted the internationally famous traditional snacks of Liuho Tourist Night Market and Chishan’s Old Street gourmet, Cultural and Creative Stationery Store and Spicy Hot Pot. Malaysian YouTuber Cody made visits to romantic Rainbow Arch, Love River, Dream Mall and Ferris Wheels, Glory Pier, and watched the sunset at the British Consulate at Takow.

Hong Kong YouTuber Mira focused on mixing having fun and being pretty, with the theme of aesthetic medicine tourism in Kaohsiung. The best thing is that the aesthetic medicine of Edah group can arrange health checkups or aesthetic medicine tourism in advance. There are large outlets and amusement parks near the medicine center. Tourists can also go shopping after having aesthetic medicine services. Japanese internet celebrity Reiko and her mother came to Kaohsiung to enjoy the Kaohsiung-inspired Activities. They visited the Veteran’s Villages to feel Taiwan’s unique veteran village culture, and also went to Lianchihtan (Lotus Pond) and Taroko Park.
