Weibo Medical Care Urges Queens Residents To Get Flu Shot This Flu Season
In a recent public service announcement, Weibo Medical Care urged residents of Queens, NY to get a flu shot. Weibo Medical Care Stated that a flu shot greatly reduced the risk of getting a flu infection.

Flushing, NY – January 22, 2020 – Dr Li Zheng, MD from Weibo Medical Care, a family medical practice in Flushing, NY, advised Queens residents to get a flu shot this flu season. Weibo Medical Care stated that the flu is a serious risk this season, as several fatalities have already occurred. Weibo Medical Care urged Queens residents to make the right decision and see a primary care doctor for a flu shot.

Statistics from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) show that the flu shot can reduce the risk of flu illness by as much as 60% among the overall population. The same CDC study also said that the flu vaccination prevents millions of illnesses and flu-related doctor visits each year. During the 2017-2018 flu season, it was estimated that the vaccine prevented 6.2 million cases of flu-related illness, 3.2 million flu-related medical visits, 91,000 flue-associated hospitalizations, and 5,700 flu-related deaths.

Weibo Medical Care cautioned that the flu is especially dangerous for infants, children, the elderly, and the chronically ill. Weibo Medical Care stressed that it is especially urgent that these populations receive a flu vaccine. Weibo Medical Care also urged anyone who works with these vulnerable populations to get the flu vaccine. According to the CDC study, the flu vaccine has been shown to be life-saving for children and the elderly. The flu vaccine is also recommended for pregnant mothers, as a flu vaccine administered during pregnancy can protect the baby for several months after birth (when the baby is not yet old enough to be vaccinated).

Weibo Medical Care stated that flu season typically starts in late fall, peaks in mid-winter (January/February) and tapers off in the spring. Weibo Medical Care warned that the flu season can sometimes last into early May. Weibo Medical Care urged Flushing residents to schedule an appointment for a flu shot with a Flushing primary care doctor at any time during these months.

Likewise, immigrants seeking to get an immigration medical exam to protect themselves from this deadly illness should make an appointment with an immigration doctor in Queens.
