Meir Segal Creates Success Stories with His Soccer Students

Tempe, AZ – Soccer is not as popular in the United States as in other countries and consequently, getting kids to a soccer training camp may be costly. Thus, getting a private coaching service may be the better alternative and that’s where Meir Segal comes in. From being a successful soccer player to an accomplished soccer coach, he wants to share his passion for the sport by coaching children on the sport.

“To say Meir Segal is an experienced soccer coach would be a vast understatement. Many times when a talented athlete tries to coach they fall short of being able to convert skill into instruction, but this is not the case with Segal,” reads an excerpt from his website. “He effectively translated his athletic skill into a means of developing both athletes and soccer programs. Now at 62 years old, Segal continues to coach with decades of expertise to offer young athletes.”

As a child, Meir Segal started playing for different soccer clubs until he was 15. In 1970, he was discovered by a professional soccer team called Haccoah Rant Can. From then on, he lived the life as a professional, moving teams, winning awards, and basically getting his teams to the finals of the US Open Cup. He was the driving force as to why the Maccabi Los Angeles team won that same competition five times, where he was a player and a coach for the team. It is no wonder he won the Golden Boot award in 1978 while also winning the Lamar Hunt Open, California Cup, and Greater La Legue.

When he retired as a player he continued coaching and up to this day, he has been responsible for many of his players’ success stories – thanks to his successful training techniques. Many of his players got into college, with some making it to the MLS and even the US National Team. Simon Elliot from the LA Galaxy, Todd Leber from Seattle Sounders, and Scott Leber from Columbus Crew were all once under Segal. The same goes for Zakiya Bywaters and Brad Evans who both have played for the US Team and came from MLS teams as well.
